You can almost always see this ” tanuki ” or racoon dog on every store front, izakaya bars and other establishments. I am not sure why ….maybe for good luck perhaps. I’ll ask hubby about that. Anyway, I honestly admit I am not fond of this tanuki …what with it’s “b__ls hanging. Some are more grotesque !

I had a very nice weekend. Hubby and I went to this gallery which features elementary and junior high kid’s art pieces. Hurrah for our future artists! And then we went to see “Princess Tenko’s Illusion Show, wawaweeeeehh!

The same bridge from my previous posts but taken on the other side. That is hottai no taki ( waterfalls ) and to have a closer look we had to cross that bridge, and go up that hill. The steep steps are are not visible because its covered with that colorful foliage though.

Lets take a break from the colorful leaves of my past posts. Here’s a sweet ” dango ” or dumplings made from “mochi kome “, glutinous rice for our snack. Its dipped , coated or topped with a sweet and salty soysause based syrup or sweet bean paste. Goes well with hot green tea ! Happy Friday ! ^_^
