Another shot of akita station area, this time on a rainy day. There is a used-clothing
store on the left and there is a pachinko ( slot machines, gamble place ) on the center of the photo. Interestingly, the loan sharks are on that other building to the right. Gamblers
and loan sharks…they need each other !
Hope you are enjoying the rest of your weekend.

There’s a lot more signs on the building than there are in europe… I wonder about the electricity bill…

I’m not sure what the time difference it is from Hawai’i and Japan but funny that you must post the same time I turn on the computer at home at midnight to 2 AM.
When you wrote “Pachinko”, I thought it read Pikkachu - Japanese names are so interesting - Pikkachu is big over here.

The place looks deserted! Is it because it’s a Sunday and it’s raining? I’m sure on weekdays it is not as lonely there

I’ve notice it’s been raining almost daily in Akita! Rainy days can be a bit of a downer at times, so cheer up midnite! Summer’s coming…

Looks like you could do with some sun.

I love all of your photos. My 15 yr old daughter will be arriving at Akita station soon on July 6th, arriving from Tokyo with 10 other basketball team mates and 4 coaches. This is her first visit to Japan and I did a search of Akita City and found your link. Your pictures have given me an indication of what she will experience. She will be homestaying for the next 11/2 weeks and be going to Meoih High School to mix with their students and to play basketball on various days. Do you know where this High school is and do you have any pictures of this school?
